    PMI South Florida Elections

    Have you ever wanted to try something new? Well, here's your chance!

    As a volunteer board member, you will have an opportunity to contribute to our strategic and budget planning and keep your finger on the pulse of South Florida and global professional Chapter trends that impact our community and our membership.

    This is a great opportunity to support your own professional growth, improve your leadership abilities, learn new skills and network with your fellow local project management and regional communities. As a Board Member you will have the ability to promote the project management profession, provide value-added services to the membership, and serve the community. You will help shape the future of the PMI South Florida Chapter and take our Chapter to the next level of visibility.

    The PMI South Florida Chapter is run by a volunteer board led by the President, President Elect, and seven Vice Presidents. The President-Elect will serve as President in 2019, and Past President in 2020. Each Vice President assumes responsibility for managing his/her portfolio to execute the Chapter's strategic objectives and overall mission.

    Serving on the Board of the PMI South Florida Chapter requires participation in monthly board meetings, bi-monthly dinner meetings, strategic planning sessions, PMI regional / global conferences, and additional hours each month based on your specific responsibilities.

    The following positions are up for election:

    • President-Elect (automatic transition to President in 2019)—Supports the President to deliver programs, manage operations, and to uphold the fiduciary responsibility to our members and all Chapter stakeholders. Serves as assistant to the current President

    • VP of Education – Support the President to define, plan, execute and control the Chapter Education offerings and all of its components: Certifications, PMI Standards, Seminars (incl. annual PDD), and Mentoring program. Uphold the fiduciary responsibility to our members and all Chapter stakeholders

    • VP of Programs – Support the President to deliver quality programs, improve member opportunities to network, and to uphold the fiduciary responsibility to our members and all Chapter stakeholders

    • VP of Operations – Support the President and President-Elect by managing the Chapter portfolio and governance, and to uphold the fiduciary responsibility to our members and all Chapter stakeholders

    • VP of Membership – Support the President to deliver membership drive, manage member metrics, improve member opportunities, and to uphold the fiduciary responsibility to our members and all Chapter stakeholders

    As a board member you will be involved in helping to set the strategic and tactical directions for the chapter, participating in the monthly board meetings, oversee the management of large programs and events, manage other volunteers, and attend PMI regional or global conferences as necessary.

    The 3 primary requirements for serving on the board include:

    1. Must be a Chapter member in good standing

    2. Must commit to a minimum of 6-8 hours per week

    3. Must disclose any possible conflicts of interest

    Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

    Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email to let you know that your application has been received. Your application will then be forwarded to the nomination committee for review, and you will be contacted for a phone interview.  Once the nomination committee has reviewed all candidates and submitted the ballot, the election will be conducted electronically and results will be announced in October 2017.

    Day of Excellence 2017

    Attention Members: DOE (Day of Excellence) 2017 Details coming soon……including venue, featured companies/sponsors, speakers, breakouts and much more!!!  Hang in there and we promise this will be a memorable event you won’t forget. 

    For those of you who have never attended or heard about the DOE, here is what to expect:

    This is an annual event and one of our largest events of the year.  This serves as both an educational event and job fair including some of the TOP destination employers in the local area and our recruiting/staffing company sponsors who are hiring as well.  The DOE event draws 200+ professionals in attendance to include Project Managers, Program Managers, Portfolio Managers, PMO Managers/Directors, Business Analysts and other likeminded individuals who are interested in continuing education and/or seeking new opportunities.
