A Year End Message from the SFL PMI Chapter President

Dear South Florida PMI Chapter Members,

As we approach the end of the year I would like to take the opportunity, on behalf of our Executive Board and volunteers, to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year!

2017 was quite a busy year for us!  We sponsored several events in Miami/Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.  We also reached a membership milestone by crossing past the 2000 member mark, surpassing our growth target for the year.

We continued offering project management and business analyst study groups, and a regularly scheduled mentorship program. In addition, we launched a quarterly newsletter, had a very successful Professional Development Day (PDD) event, held our most successful Think Tank event to date, and we kicked off our 3rd annual Community Outreach program.

I was also moved by the generosity of our local Agile trainers and training partners who donated their weekend time to host an Agile SCRUM Basics class.  All of the proceeds collected were donated to Hurricane Irma Relief Funds to help those less fortunate in the South Florida community afflicted by the storm.

The PMI South Florida Chapter is here to help you maximize the full benefits of your PMI membership, and we are lining up some exciting things for next year.

I am truly honored and humbled to have had the privilege to serve as President of the Chapter, and want to thank our members for giving me the opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of others.   I also want to express my deepest appreciation for the volunteers, whose dedication and time is the lifeline of the Chapter, and our sponsors whose support is key for us to deliver quality events.
