    Writing Effective User Stories Workshop

    Date:
    Nov 9, 2017

    Location:
    University of Phoenix, Fort Lauderdale

The heart of Agile is user stories, yet there is confusion on how to write them.  Many agile teams struggle to write user stories with just enough information so that developers can reasonably estimate the effort to implement.

During this workshop, you will learn how to write user stories that are valuable to stakeholders and developers.  This workshop will also examine the role of the product owner in managing user stories.

The following topics will be discussed during the workshop, and students will work through practical, hands-on exercise to reinforce concepts:

    What is a user story
    Why user stories
How to write a user story
Who writes user stories and when
Differentiation between requirements and user stories
    Card, Confirmation, Conversation
    Acceptance criteria
    Themes, epics, features
    Organizing user stories
    Splitting user stories
    Release planning
    Story map
    Non-functional Requirements as User Stories
