   Calming Strategies

Stress and feelings of anxiety have been a common part of life for many.  The Covid-19 situation has added new stressors, making  self care and the ability to relax more challenging.  Our next session, Calming Strategies, presented by University of Miami’s Assistant Director Pilar Tamburrino, will offer useful techniques to manage and improve overall wellness. 

The session will help participants understand how to restore their parasympathetic (relaxation) response during Covid-19 and learn simple physical and emotional calming methods that may be implemented to help manage current stressors.  Additionally, a breathing practice and guided imagery will be presented.

MEET PILAR TAMBURRINO

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program

Assistant Director

Pilar Tamburrino, MS, LMHC, CEAP, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. A Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Employee Assistance Professional, with over 27 years experience. She has a professional background working within community mental health centers, private practice, delivery of employee assistance services, and partial hospitalization programs.

 

*The event is free and open to everyone. PMI members will receive 1 PDU in Leadership for attending and must register in order to earn it.
