PDUs and Chapter Events

Q: How do I report my PDUs for a chapter-sponsored event I just attended?

A: Log in to, select “Report PDUs” and complete the information requested.The PDU Category is A and the Component ID is C038


Q: How do I get my certificate of attendance for a chapter-sponsored PDU event?

A: Attendees will receive an email with the PDU certificate in .PDF format


Q: Which chapter-sponsored events are PDU applicable?

A:  Any event that has an educational component. Chapter events that qualify include: Professional Development Day (PDD); Dinner Seminars; Tools Sessions, and Educational webinars


Q: What are the guidelines and process for obtaining a refund for an event I paid for but could not attend?

A:You can receive a refund until 5:00PM of the date of the event by sending an email or calling and leaving a message before that time.  In the near future you will be able to make the request online.


Q: Can I pay for events as a walk-in or do I have to pre-register for all events?

A: You can pay for events as a walk-in

Q: How do I get help if I encounter technical issues while registering for an event on the website?

A:Use the “Contact Us” link on the website to report a problem.


Q: Whom do I contact if I would like to be considered as a speaker for a chapter-sponsored event?

A: Send an email to [email protected]. To be considered you would be required to submit a video of a presentation you did, in addition to references, and a resume or other materials describing your work and accomplishments. Your information will be reviewed within 30 days of submission and you will be notified thereafter


Q: What is the process for submitting articles to be posted on the chapter’s website?

A: Articles should be submitted via email to [email protected]. Articles will be reviewed within 30 days of submission and you will be notified thereafter. Note that submitted articles will not be returned to the submitter. Also, only articles written by the submitter will be accepted

Q: How large is the chapter in terms of membership?

A: As of 2015, our chapter has approximately 1,500 members


Q: What geographic areas does the chapter serve? 

A: The chapter serves the southern Florida geographic region, which includes Miami/Dade, Broward and West Palm


Q: Do I have to be PMP certified to be a chapter member?

A: No, you do not have to be PMP certified to be a chapter member


Q: Can I attend chapter events if I am not a chapter member?

A: Yes, you can attend chapter events even if you are not a chapter member. Note that non-members pay a slightly higher rate for events


Q: Can the chapter help me find a job?

A: The chapter sponsors an annual Job Fair where we bring job seekers, hiring agencies and local companies together. We also offer a free job notification service to “members” who register for the service


Q: Does the chapter offer any discounts to students for membership or chapter-sponsored events?

A:There are no discounts for students


Q: Does the chapter sponsor any free events?

A: Yes. The chapter’s annual Job Fair/Day of Excellence (DOE) is free


Q: What is the chapter’s annual membership cost?

A: The chapter’s annual membership cost is $35. This is in addition to the annual membership cost for our parent organization, PMI. Go to to register


Q: I am new to South Florida and would like to join the chapter to network and find a job. How do I get started?

A:  The chapter sponsors several networking events annually in Miami/Dade, Broward and West Palm. We also sponsor an annual Job Fair, and offer a free job notification service to “members” who register for the service. In addition, our dinner seminars include scheduled time for networking; it provides a great opportunity to meet other members and establish professional relationships.
