Purpose
Our Military Outreach Program is designed to support active duty, separated, and retired military personnel understand the benefits of a project management accreditation and navigate the application and certification process
Goals
- Support active duty, separated, and retired military personnel understand the benefits of a project management accreditation and navigate the application and certification process
- Help military personnel and veterans select PMI certifications and help translate their skills and experience to successfully apply for certification
- Provide guidance and mentorship throughout the certification application process for military personnel and veterans.
- Engage transitioning military personnel to consider the project management field
- Inform military communities about project management values, processes, skills, and certifications
- Help military personnel and veterans select applicable PMI certification and translate their skills and experience to successfully apply for certification and provide guidance and mentorship throughout the certification application process
- Increase the Chapter’s awareness about transitioning military personnel
- Integrate the veteran community and veteran-friendly companies in the area
- Our Chapter includes a team that seeks to help to transition military personnel interested in project management and connects them with veterans currently working in the field. We help assist and advise each individual on the transition process from prior careers into the field of project management.
Certification
In an increasingly projectized world, PMI professional certification ensures that individuals are ready to meet the demands of projects and employers across the globe. Our Military Liaison Volunteers provide guidance for individuals, helping to translate your experience and guide you throughout the application process.

Chapter Training
Our chapter offers training throughout the year, including preparation for certification exams, and in some cases, study groups. We collaborate with local Authorized Training Partners to provide low or no-cost training solutions for military service members, veterans and their families.
Volunteer Support
Our chapter is seeking military PMP certified members to help us share the word that Project Management is a great career option for veterans transitioning into a civil service role, government contractor supporting the DOD, or a private corporation. Please visit our website to learn more.
Military and Veteran Membership Cost
Military and Veterans (including spouses) can join the South Florida PMI Chapter at no cost during their first year of membership. Please contact our Engagement Military Liaison Program at [email protected] for a Military Guest Pass.
