Certification

In an increasingly projectized world, PMI professional certification ensures that individuals are ready to meet the demands of projects and employers across the globe.  For transitioning military service members and veterans, it is important to review the application criteria ahead of time to see if you meet the certification requirements.  Our Military Liaison Volunteers can provide guidance by translating your experience and guiding you throughout the application process.  All PMI certifications require individuals to meet domain experience levels, educational levels or both before they apply.  Applicants will need to provide PMI with the details of this experience and education, so it is best to gather and prepare this information before opening the application.  To find out the eligibility requirements, consult the handbook for the certification that interests you.  Each one has unique eligibility criteria:

Chapter Training

Our chapter offers training throughout the year, including preparation for certification exams, and in some cases, study groups.  We collaborate with local Authorized Training Partners to provide low or no cost training solutions for military service members, veterans and their families.  For more information on certification and funding options, visit the following websites:

Applications for certification and membership need to be submitted to PMI separately.  For those electing certification AND using the GI Bill, they will be reimbursed the full amount after passing the certification exam.

Volunteer Support

The Chapter is seeking military PMI members to help us share the word that Project Management is a great career option for veterans transitioning into a civil service role, government contractors supporting the DOD, or a private corporation. If you have additional questions or would like to learn more, please contact the program’s military liaison lead at [email protected]
